Oak Grove Center hosts annual auction and dinner to raise funds for new gym.

WHO: Oak Grove Center for Treatment, Education & the Arts is a non-profit 24-hour residential and educational treatment center that serves 76 children who live on campus and an additional 80-90 day students who attend our nonpublic school day program in Murrieta, CA. A second campus in Perris, CA serves an additional 50 students. Children and youth are admitted with a variety of psychological, social, emotional, behavioral, medical and neurological problems with concurrent behavioral difficulties, school problems, family dysfunction and alcohol or substance abuse. Many of the children have suffered physical and/or sexual abuse, other traumas or experienced many other social, emotional or behavioral challenges.

WHAT: “Evening Under the Oaks” is a casual evening affair offering fine dining set under the old oak trees at Oak Grove Center in Murrieta, California. The evening will include a live and silent auction, live entertainment, dinner and dancing.

Dinner options will include delicious menu items from Simply Sharon’s Restaurant, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery, Pala Resort Casino and Spa, Smokey Mountain Catering, Great Harvest Bread Company, Ponte Winery, South Coast Winery, Espresso Chauffer, US Foods and Sweet Layers Cakes and Pastries.

Items for bid in the live and silent auctions will include weekend getaway accommodations to Anaheim, Reno, Las Vegas, San Diego and Newport Beach; dinner packages at Yves’ Restaurant Wine Bar, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery, The Club House at Anaheim Golf Course and Callaway Vineyard & Winery; tickets to tapings of the Dr. Phil Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live; Hornblower Cruise tickets, gift cards, zoo tickets and much, much more.

WHY: Oak Grove Center is currently in the process of raising $1 million to build a gym/multipurpose room at the Murrieta campus. Plans have been submitted to The City of Murrieta and several developers, contractors and vendors have already committed their time and resources to the project. All that’s left is to raise enough money to complete the 120 foot by 150 foot multipurpose building that will include an Occupational-Play Therapy room designed to meet the needs of the growing autism population, Performing Arts and Recreation room. The gym itself will hold a CIF regulation basketball court.
