New Year’s Eve Ideas and Thoughts…

New Year’s Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past year, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. Every year I try to plan something special for New Year’s Eve way ahead of time. This year I was honored to be invited to a very good friend’s wedding vow renewals, taking place in Julian at a quaint little inn. I am especially excited that I’ll be surrounded by a big group of close friends that I met at the beginning of this year. Celebrating these nuptials will not only be a great way to look back at our special times together throughout 2010, but a fantastic way to usher in 2011.

I hope everyone has the opportunity to plan something special with friends or family. Below you will find a list of NYE events that I would attend, if I were staying in town. Get together for some wine with a friend and plan something special to ring in the New Year together.

My Top 5 “Best NYE Parties” in the Temecula Wine Country area are as follows:

Rhythm and Rio’s Carnevale at South Coast Winery -
When I first saw this celebration and benefit, I thought, Wow!! I would have loved to see all the entertainment at this event! Ring in the New Year with sizzling Latin and pulsating Brazilian bands! Feast on fabulous food and award-winning wines. A world of exotic samba dancers, snake charmers and mystic tarot card readers awaits you! Advance reservations a must. Benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children. South Coast Winery, 34843 Rancho California Rd.,Temecula CA
Tickets: $230-285 Time: 8 p.m. Phone Number: (213) 368.3378

“Casino Night” New Year’s Eve Party at Thornton Winery – For the gambler lovers out there, this event is sure to please! Celebrate the New Year with some delicious champagne and gourmet dinner. New Year’s Eve Party at Wilson Creek Winery – The party never stops at Wilson Creek. Every event I’ve attended here has been super fun! Join them for an over-the-top “Give My Regards to Broadway” event with a four-course gourmet dinner, dancing, live music, Broadway-themed appearances, personalized Broadway-themed photos & of course a Champagne bar including their Almond Champagne. Wilson Creek Winery, 35960 Rancho California Rd. Temecula CA Tickets: $144 – $160 Time: 7pm to 12am Phone Number: (951) 699.9463

Wiens Family Cellars New Years Eve Gala – If you’re looking for a dressy elegant event, this is it! Dust off that tux (optional) and ladies, here’s your excuse to go get that new formal dress. The dinner sounds like it’s going to be amazing!! Begin the evening with a Champagne Reception and Iced Seafood Bar. There will be live music and a plated sit down dinner. Wiens Family Cellars, 35055 Via Del Ponte, Temecula CA Tickets: $110 Time: 7pm-1am Phone Number: 888-98-WIENS

The Great Temecula Grape Drop – Are you are looking for fun family-friendly entertainment? Temecula’s New Year’s Eve Celebration is Southern California’s alternate for New York City. Instead of TIMES Square, it’s TOWN Square. Instead of countdown for the drop of an apple or a ball, it’s “The Great Temecula Grape Drop” with an illuminated grape bunch 7 feet tall by 4 feet wide. There’s even an Ice Skating rink you can skate on for just $10 on the square. Come Join the Fun! Old Town, Temecula CA Tickets: FREE! Time: 11:30 am to 12:30 am Phone Number: (951) 694.6444

I hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable New Year’s Eve! See you next year!!

  1. Good article and thanks for filing in the details on these events. It’s difficult to figure out what each event is about based on just ads.
