Imagine riding into Sturgis, South Dakota for their annual motorcycle rally sitting on a bike that is a unique, one-of-a-kind, custom-made motorcycle -one that not only sets you apart from everyone else at this world-famous event, but is the only bike of it’s kind in the entire world. The kind of two-wheel machine that would easily make you the coolest kid on the block, yet had the horsepower, smooth handling, and hot looks to compete with anything and anyone on the road. If you’re that person – or simply want to be that person- then step into Intrepid Cycles.
Webster’s Dictionary defines intrepid as “characterized by resolute fearlessness, fortitude, and endurance.” You can also include “daring,” “courageous,” and “bold.” Each of these adjectives accurately describes what Intrepid Cycles is all about. Co-owner Mike Page, who handles Marketing/Dealer Development/Sales/Bike Design, partnered with Don Biron (Lead Builder/Design) and Wayne Tingley (Service Manager) to make, in Mike’s words, “works of art.” A work of art that also cruises at 120 mph down the freeway.
Mike started out in the auto sales world, where one day, after completing yet another 90-hour workweek, learned that his family life was on the verge of crumbling. Too many long hours working in that cutthroat environment led to a disconnect with his wife. So he made a needed change and took a job at Biker’s Dream in Pacific Beach, San Diego, and never looked back. He’s been in the motorcycle sales/building world for 14 years now, and after a stint at Big Bear Choppers, took over Intrepid and has helped build it to be one of the premier custom motorcycle manufacturers/dealers (50 state legal) in the southern California.
While each motorcycle Mike and his team produces is custom made, each is based on one of their models, whether it be the Snub Nose, the Resolute Chopper, the Steadfast Prostreet, or the Revelation Canyon Runner. After selecting a model style, the sky’s the limit in what can be built. As their pamphlet states, “Nothing is out of bounds! If you can dream it, we can build it.” With so much time, detail, and care put into each bike, they only produce an average of two new motorcycles a month. And of course, such high-end custom manufacturing comes with a price. Each bike they produce goes for between $20K and $45K. In fact, they’re currently building one that’s going to be close to $60K when it’s completed.
Besides building amazing bikes, Intrepid is also a full-service chop that specializes in American V-Twins, Metric Sport and Motorcross, Watercraft, Quads, Side by Sides, and more. Both Don and Wayne are certified techs, so you’re in good hands whether you need a simple tune-up, to add more horsepower, or even adding a stereo system to your touring bike. You can make your bike “as crazy as you want it.”
Intrepid Cycles also gives back to the Temecula community. You’ll find them at the annual Temecula Rod Run (supporting the P&R Foundation), the Balloon & Wine Festival, and at musical events by Golden Crown Productions. In fact, the company sponsors a VIP table for their guests at each Golden Crown concert held at Wiens Family Cellars, the latest one being Lukas Nelson, of whom Mike is a huge fan. The Intrepid gang will be at the next show – Berlin (featuring Terri Nunn) on Sept. 18th. Get your tickets now.
As many of you know, the Temecula Valley has become the “go to” area for motorcycle riders and enthusiasts from all points in Southern California – San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles. There is no better place to show off your new, one-of-a-kind Intrepid bike via a ride with friends to Idyllwild, the desert, or the coast via the Ortega Hwy (California’s #1 bike trail). So if you’re someone who wants something new, unique, fun, and state-of-the-art, stop by Intrepid Cycles today. Bring your dreams and watch the Intrepid Crew make them come true.
