No, we’re not in line at the Dodger’s game waiting for a Dodger Dog, and we’re not at Pinks in L.A. We’re in Temecula, at The Hot Dog Shoppe (HDS). The HDS was the idea of Chris Trimble who was tired of working for corporate America. He was ready to be his own boss.
As you walk in, the billboard-sized menu of dogs, brauts, and sausages hits you in the face and leaving you in awe, wondering what to order from the many selections. The best seller is the Texas Chili Dog. My personal favorite is The El Serape, two dogs wrapped in corn tortilla wrapped in bacon topped with pico de gallo, bbq sauce, and Tapatio. The hot dogs come regular-sized or 1/2 pound sized with your choice of toppings. The HDS sells more then Hot Dogs. They carry great sides like Fried Mac n Cheese, Southern Slaw, and Texas Chili.
The HDS is a nice, cozy place where you can have a delicious dog, watch a game being shown on one of their four TVs. You can also just kick back and shoot the breeze, drinking a 24 ounce Pabst Blue Ribbon or one of their selection of beer, wine, or soda. On a side note HDS sell the most PBR in all of California. Come in and the friendly servers, Evan, Lauren, Scott, and Teran will help you find a dog to your liking.
