You thought only wine came from Paso Robles, think again!
My beer pick of the week is Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale, which is commonly found in finer stores everywhere…and my garage refrigerator on most weekends.
If you are into drinking award winning beverages, Firestone Walker is your go to beer, having just won a prestigious third World Cup Beer Title. Myself, I care about taste, not awards, and Firestone Walker certainly delivers in the taste department.
“On a night full of records, Firestone Walker took home its third World Beer Cup championship as a mid-size brewery, continuing its dominance in the competition.
Firestone Walker continued its competition success, recording its own personal WBC record with six medals: two golds, two silvers and two bronze medals. That gives the brewery 20 medals across the last four WBC competitions, enough to extend its all-time WBC medal count lead over Alaskan Brewing. It was also Matt Brynildson’s sixth championship as a brewer in all-time WBC and Great American Beer Festival competition which is another record.” Beernews.org
Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale is crafted in the manner of Traditional English Bitter. Sweet hopiness, citrus notes, oak, creamy, slightly bitter finish. Great palate cleanser, with refreshing bite.
Want to meet David Walker, co-founder of Firestone Walker?
Your in luck as he’ll be at the Barley and Hops tonight from 6:00 – 8:00, along with seven Firestone Walker beers on tap.
