The Animal Rescue Kompany (ARK) is a non-profit organization started by people who volunteered and fostered animals. They decided to make a difference and decrease the number of euthanized animals. Joy Brown and Betty Ann drive to shelters daily and rescue dogs and cats that would otherwise be euthanized. They strive to find foster families and shelters for the animals until the time comes when they can be adopted. Their efforts are supported by the adoption fees and individual contributions.
The 2nd Annual Night to Save the Animals was held in Callaway’s Barrel Room Friday night. Some of the animals they help support were present and viewable upon check-in. All of them were adorable and irresistible. One had a broken leg and cast. AM Jazz played beautifully, candles lit on the barrel pallets, and gorgeous chandeliers lent a soft glow to the room. A silent auction started the night off. Local donors were generous when giving to this cause. Starbucks, Peggy’s Hallmark, Duke’s Mesquite Broiler, The Hot Dog Shoppe, Pechanga Resort and Spa are just a few who gave to the gift baskets.
There are several different ways to donate and help this cause. A personal monetary donation is one, and sponsoring an animal monthly for food and supplies is another. Another way is through the website. WWW.GoodSearch.com. You can go on this website, choose Animal Rescue Kompany as the charity of choice and they will donate for your search. On this site you will also find Goodshop.com. Make purchases from some of your favorite retailers: Amazon, Target, Kohls, even Best Buy. They will all donate a percentage of your purchase back to ARK. ARK is also looking for good families to foster dogs and cats. If you can open your home to save a life, it will change the animal’s life, and yours as well.
Kudos to three of the women who make this heartfelt event happen. Sharon McGilvery PhD, Event Co-Chair, Karen Busmire, Event Co-Chair and Chris Craite, Fundraiser Coordinator for ARK. These women pour their heart and soul into this event, with it growing every year. This year, they sat 150 people, and may go on to double next year. These women do a fantastic job, Callaway set an unforgettable table and served a delicious meal. The music was picked perfectly and knowing it was all to help our animal friends, Taste of Temecula was glad to be a part of it.
